On November 3, 2026, Nexperia, based in Nijmegen in the Netherlands, announced legal action in a Dutch court against its Chinese parent Wingtech, Wingtech's founder and former CEO Zhang Xuezheng and, per NL Times and Techzine, two Chinese entities. Nexperia gave no amount. Wingtech says the claim tops $2 billion and rejects every allegation. We read three reports as automatic summaries, not Nexperia's statement.

The essentials

What is reported?

Reuters and Techzine report that Nexperia announced the action. NL Times first presents the case as disclosed by Wingtech and does not say whether Nexperia confirmed it. The court is in Amsterdam; Techzine, citing NRC, says the district court.

Who says what in the Nexperia and Wingtech lawsuit. Allegations, not verified. The amount and the grounds are as Wingtech describes them. Nexperia (announcement reported by Reuters and Techzine): Announces legal action in a Dutch court against Wingtech, Zhang Xuezheng and, per NL Times and Techzine, two Chinese entities; Wants them held to account for acts it says caused significant harm, and seeks compensation; gives no amount; Wingtech (its own account): Says the claim tops $2 billion; Describes the alleged grounds as breached internal agreements and an independent Chinese supply chain competing with Nexperia; Rejects all allegations and denies causing harm; will defend actively if the writ is formally served and the court accepts it; Court: A court in Amsterdam; filing stage; no hearing date set. Outline of who says what. The figure and the grounds come from Wingtech, not from Nexperia. Nothing here is proven; the reports were read as automatic summaries. Who says what?

Nexperia says the defendants should answer for acts that, it says, caused significant harm to it and its business. It did not state an amount.

Wingtech supplies the rest. It puts the claim above $2 billion and says Nexperia's Dutch arm accuses Nexperia China and Nexperia Shanghai of breaching internal agreements and of building an independent Chinese supply chain that hampered its business and competed directly, which it calls unfair commercial conduct under Dutch law. Nexperia's statement, as far as we read, does not present these grounds.

Wingtech denies all allegations and any harm. It says it will hire foreign lawyers and defend itself if the writ is formally served and the court accepts it, which has not happened yet.

What other proceedings exist?

Relayed by NL Times and Techzine, unchecked: in May 2026 Wingtech sued three Dutch Nexperia entities and three executives in China for 8 billion yuan (about $1.2 billion), and started an international arbitration against the Dutch state. In August 2026 a Chinese court froze up to 2.14 billion yuan (about $300 million) of Nexperia and its equipment subsidiary's assets; Nexperia said day-to-day operations are unaffected.

In autumn 2025, per the sources, Dutch authorities stepped in to stop a transfer of technology and production capacity to China, and the Amsterdam Enterprise Chamber suspended Zhang Xuezheng and put most of Wingtech's votes under an independent administrator. A court-ordered investigation of management followed in February 2026. China briefly restricted exports of Nexperia chips packaged in Dongguan, causing carmaker shortages, notably in Europe. Both governments have since lifted their measures, per Reuters and Techzine, but the company stays split along national lines. Dates differ slightly between sources.

What is not established?

None of this is proven. The amount and the grounds come from Wingtech. We tested nothing. This is neither legal nor investment advice. Source: Reuters via The Standard, NL Times and Techzine.

The amount Nexperia claims; whether the allegations are well founded; who exactly the two Chinese defendants are; the precise jurisdiction and timetable; the outcome; whether the supply chain described exists and what it covers; the effect on chip deliveries; and whether Nexperia confirms the grounds Wingtech reports. We tested nothing.
